Comfort is our trade, good sense is our nature, and well-being is our mission
From the early days of the Covid-19 health crisis, LAFUMA MOBILIER wanted to offer its support and leverage its expertise to benefit hospital staff.
Faced with the rapidly evolving epidemic, LAFUMA MOBILIER wanted to contribute to the nationwide effort by donating armchairs to healthcare workers in hospital environments, specifically designed by our experts for rest. Equipped with a waterproof mattress, effective against bacteria and fire-resistant, the Vital reclining chair – which bears the “Origine France Garantie” label – is designed with a zero-gravity position to encourage rest and recuperation.
“To support staff in hospitals and help them to rest in these difficult times, we donated approximately 150 Vital reclining chairs to various hospitals in our region”, explains Arnaud Du Mesnil, Managing Director of LAFUMA MOBILIER. “Seeing as we produce chairs on a daily basis for professional use – not least for the healthcare sector – it made sense for us to contribute. It was only natural for the company and for our employees.”
Established by Emmaüs Défi in 2012, the Banque Solidaire de l’Équipement, or Social Bank for Household Goods, was founded to promote, support and implement measures for the professional and social integration of the disadvantaged, and to develop integration activities by means of economic activity.
In Paris, Lyon, Aubervilliers and other branches to come, the bank collects household goods donated by partner companies and sells them for a nominal fee to customers in times of hardship, who are guided by a referral agent or social worker, to help equip their first home with essential consumer goods.
Supplying products for the new homes of its customers, LAFUMA MOBILIER wished to contribute to the organisation’s efforts and to champion the principle of well-being for everyone.
Based in Anneyron, Drôme since 1954, LAFUMA MOBILIER works at a local level for the planning, development and improvement of its home region.
Planting numerous melliferous tree species, including nettle, pagoda, maple, tulip and lime trees, we took part in replanting the l’Argentelle recreational area.
A site of major ecological significance, encircled by lakes and wetlands, it was important to LAFUMA MOBILIER to lend its support to help conserve this natural habitat and promote its biodiversity.
Additionally, the l’Argentelle project aims to revitalise the area by creating a vibrant and inviting sports and leisure park for residents of the local municipality in the midst of the natural surroundings!
Commitment to biodiversity
Homes for bees
Conscious of environmental issues, LAFUMA MOBILIER came to the natural decision to help save and protect bees, namely by sponsoring beehives. Un Toit pour les Abeilles, or Homes for Bees, strives to protect these insects of immeasurable value to the environment and to encourage the development of colonies. Considering the alarming decrease in the number of bees over recent years, and their total disappearance from certain parts of the globe, the situation is critical. In tandem with the launch of our BeComfort® range in 2019, LAFUMA MOBILIER sponsored 120,000 bees in the local region, with the help of the Abeille de Vercors Honey Farm in the heart of the Drôme.
