This year, global affairs and lifestyle magazine Monocle launched its inaugural Design Awards, a formal recognition and celebration of the world’s best designers and new works of design, from architecture and urban planning to graphic design and furniture production. 50 individual awards recognise talent from Seoul to South Africa and cover many aspects of design, from urban interventions to unique magazine bindings.
We are proud to announce that our Capsule Collection LISON is part of the Monocle Design Awards 2021 selection. LISON, consisting of an armchair, a chair and a seat, and co-published with BLEU DE CHAUFFE, won the award for "best collaboration" of the year.

French heritage
This capsule collection is a rework of the first series of seats in metal and cotton canvas made by LAFUMA MOBILIER in 1954. LAFUMA MOBILIER Bauhaus influence combined with the workwear DNA of BLEU DE CHAUFFE gives LISON a timeless style. 100% French, functional and sustainable.
LISON is the fruit of an authentic collaboration between two beautiful French houses. The two brands have used their unique know-how: LAFUMA MOBILIER signature on the frame and BLEU DE CHAUFFE craftsmanship on the leather work. Each of the exclusive pieces was handmade with great care and attention to details by the two French manufactures.
When an indoor/outdoor furniture manufacturer teams up with a leather craftsman... It's a real collector's item! The joint project was initiated around a shared love for sustainable and useful design, deeply driven by a humanitarian and ecological consciousness. The connection to build a story between LAFUMA MOBILIER and BLEU DE CHAUFFE seemed obvious : LISON is the result of this encounter.
The Monocle Design Awards have been published in the May edition as well as on their website monocle.com. The list of winners includes big names such as David Chipperfield as well as new talents and small pleasures.
